Willamette Valley Quinoa is a small, family operated farm located in the heart of the Willamette Valley in Salem, Oregon. Willamette Valley Quinoa is the first farm in Oregon to commercially grow and sell quinoa to local customers. We are very proud of our product and the way we have grown it. Our Quinoa is grown without chemicals or sprays, and although it isn't certified as Organic, it is grown in the same manner as if it was certified. It has taken years of hard work for Willamette Valley Quinoa to grow and choose the right variety for the climate and area we are in. Willamette Valley Quinoa has not only taken on the challenge of being the first to commercially grow Quinoa in Oregon, but has also set up its own processing facility to remove saponin. Saponin is the bitter tasting coating on Quinoa, meant as a natural protection against birds and other animals that would eat the seeds. Willamette Valley Quinoa's goal is to provide you a source of ethically and locally grown Quinoa, with a focus on sustainable production.
